No bathroom, no
kitchen, but easy
to restore walls and woodwork!
There is only one layer of wall-paper and it can be peeled
off with finger nails in most rooms! Also, there's only one
layer of paint on most of the woodwork! It has "plantation
shutters" on 18 windows. Those shutters are in almost
perfect condition!
This forgotten 2-story mansion is a restorer’s
dream. It
hasn’t been touched since 1979. Its
3000 sq ft of living
space include a curved
staircase, unspoiled woodwork,
10-foot ceilings,
and louvered interior shutters that fold
out of
the way ("plantation shutters").
It is laid out in the shape of an “L” with 11 rooms,
but no
working bathroom and no kitchen.
On the ground floor, there is a foyer, a living
room, a
dining room, a kitchen, an orangery,
(that’s a small
sun-filled room for indoor plants)
and a bedroom.
(I
think that that bedroom was
originally the parlor.)
Upstairs, there is a foyer and 4 bedrooms.
Toward the rear of the house there is a second,
less
impressive, staircase that was probably
intended for
the servants.
