Narrative description
This property is a
typical small Virginia farm
from the last century. These little farms are
getting scarce and it's becoming more and
more difficult to find one.
As with many of the properties that come
on the market these days, a lot of this
farm has been logged. I'm not sure
how many acres have been "cut-over"
and how many acres are open fields, but
I'll update this description when I find out.
There's a significant creek running through
this farm for about 2000 feet. I rate it a
"jump over" creek (as opposed to "step
over" or "wade across"). The creek is
really nice. If someone used a bulldozer
to clear away the stumps and debris
left by the logging operation, there would
be some wonderful spots for picnics along
this creek.
The house was probably built in the early
1900's. There are three outbuildings
serving as storage sheds and one little old
building with a wooden seat in it.
The sheds are "rough" looking and
mostly full of junk, but one has a chicken
coop in it. One was probably a garage
back in the days when cars were small
and another has a big pile of kindling
wood in it.
This house is physically adequate, it's
just not artistically pleasing. It has very
low ceilings. In other words, this house
is not much, but it can be lived in. It
